Marquette's Institute to Honour 3 Community Women Leaders

International Women’s Day is around the corner and Marquette University’s Institute for Women’s Leadership shall give Transformational Leadership awards to three honourable community and campus leaders. The occurrence is going to take place on March 7, 2024, at 3rd annual IWL Gala. The ceremony shall start at sharp 5 pm at the Alumni Memorial Union, 1442 W. Wisconsin Ave.

There are three category of awards which will be given to the selected women. Those three awards includeIWL Transform Award; IWL Inspire Award; IWL Engage Award

The IWL Transform Award shall be given to a community leader followed by IWL Inspire Award that will consider a member of the Marquette campus community. Lastly, the third award will be given to a Marquette student.

The 3 selected women includes:

  1. Wendy K. Baumann (IWL Transform Award)
  2. Dr. Jacki Black (IWL Inspire Award)
  3. Hope Moses (IWL Engage Award)

Wendy is the president/chief visionary officer of The Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative Corporation. Dr. Jacki serves as the director of Hispanic initiatives and diversity and inclusion educational programming. And Lastly, Hope; she is serving as the executive director of the Marquette Wire in addition to being a fourth-year journalism undergraduate.

Denise Thomas will be delivering the event’s keynote address which on the theme ‘Unapologetically You’. Denise is a very renowned and award-wining entrepreneur who is the founder of The Effective Communication Coach.

This event is a great way to celebrate this year’s Internation Women’s Day while acknowledging the accomplishments of women and encouraging them to understand their true potential.
