X Games has tapped Annie Lokesh to lead the X Games League, leveraging her expertise in business transformation, league management, and strategic expansion. She will be crucial in scaling the overseas operation and advancing growth objectives in her new role. She will lead and design the competition structure and business plan for the first multi-sport action league set to debut in 2026.
After working as the Business Transformation Director for the WNBA, where she was instrumental in the league’s strategic development, Annie brings a wealth of experience to X Games. She played a pivotal role in securing the WNBA’s landmark $75 million capital infusion, aligning with a comprehensive financial growth strategy focused on high-priority investment.
With a background in consulting at Deloitte, she led strategic transformations and crisis communications efforts for businesses navigating growth. Focusing on strategic growth, organizational transformation, and talent development, she drove key initiatives within the WNBA. Additionally, she launched the Office of the Commissioner, unifying league operations and communication channels to maximize efficiency and long-term scalability.
“I am honored to join X Games at such a pivotal time and to lead the launch of the X Games League,” said Lokesh. “By launching the first-ever team-based action sports league, we’re creating a sustainable opportunity for athletes and team owners. Building on the existing X Games’ global brand, we’re setting the stage for an innovative team competition that has the power to engage the next generation of fans who crave content that’s both easy to digest and full of unexpected thrills. XGL will redefine action sports, elevate world class athletes to new heights, and deliver an unforgettable experience for fans worldwide.”
The X Game League, launching in 2026, will redefine action sports with year-round, team-based format. Winter and summer teams will compete worldwide, combining individual performances with an overall team championship. Athlete earning will extend beyond the $2.4 million prize pool, with compensation through the league’s team-based revenue system. The first ever XGL draft, set for later this year, will redefine competition and fan engagement.
