Nike has stated that as of March 13, Cathy Sparks, who is now VP, of Nike Direct, EMEA, would transition to manage the APLA region as VP/GM, APLA, and Amy Montagne, who is currently VP/GM, of APLA, will move to lead the women's business as VP/GM women's.
The business disclosed Whitney Malkiel's decision to quit Nike as VP/GM of Women's. These modifications "will further build on our strengths and highlight our commitment to accelerate our women's business, invest in our regions, and further cultivate our best people," said Heidi O'Neill, president of consumer and marketplace, in a release.
The business said that Montagne, an 18-year veteran of Nike, most recently served as the region's chief for Asia-Pacific and Latin America. She has held the positions of global categories vice president and general manager in the past.
VP/GM, worldwide merchandising, and VP/GM, global women's. Also, she has held roles of increasing importance in running, women's training, and apparel throughout North America. At Gap Inc., Mervyn's, and Walmart, Montagne had positions in allocation, planning, and merchandising before joining Nike.
According to the firm, Sparks has worked for Nike for 25 years and most recently served as vice president of Nike Direct for Europe, where she oversaw the CDA's implementation and the expansion of direct and digital sales inside a single Nike sports marketplace.
Her previous positions included VP/GM of worldwide Nike Direct Stores, VP of Nike Direct Retail Concepts, VP of North American Nike Stores, GM of Emerging Markets DTC, and GM of Korea DTC. Sparks began working at NikeTown Portland as a store athlete and have since held jobs with increasing levels of responsibility in four different countries.
