CM Maryam Nawaz launches 1st Virtual Women Police Station in Pakistan

For the first time in history, Punjab’s Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has initiated first virtual women police station in Pakistan entitled as ‘Meri Awaz…Maryam Nawaz’ on April 22, 2024. The virtual police station will be operated by IT Graduate Women Police Communication Officers in order to facilitate complainants of women in the country.

CM Maryam has also visited the virtual police station and took up a look into it while interacting with Women Communication Police Officers in addition to directing for the hostel and day care center completion at its earliest for the women officers. Additionally, CM has launched "CM Maryam Nawaz Free Wi-Fi" service in over 50 locations all across Lahore.

While inaugurating the station, She stated, “Thanks to Virtual Women Police Station, women will not have to go round the police station unnecessarily. The Virtual Women Police Station will guide women through all stages of the crime, from registration of FIR to its investigation and trial. Women can contact police through 15 Call, Women Safety App live chat feature, video call feature, Punjab Police App and Safe City web portal. In the virtual women police station, all problems faced by women including harassment will be solved on priority basis.”

She continued, “In Virtual Women Police Station, a woman can share her problem with complete privacy and confidence without revealing her name and address. Live video call feature has also been introduced in the Virtual Women Police Station. Women can also point out their problems including their location through the video call feature.”
